About Groupai

The problem: We've all been there. You are sitting in the first course meeting of the Philosophy of Star Trek, the professor distributes the syllabus for the  and you notice that 30% of your final grade hinges on a group project. You and a team of three other students must research, write a paper, and present on "The Wrath of Kant." Immediately your eyes scour the room. Who will be the best team members? You have no clue. The professor assigns groups based on an algorythm involving first letter of last name and favorite type of yogurt. You end up in a team with three students who inform you that they are too busy to do the project. In the end, you do all the research, write the paper, and give the presentation. You are rewarded with a B for your effort. The professor says you would have gotten an A if you had shared the workload. Frustration sets in. Anger. Resentment. It just isn't logical!

The solution: Groupai.

Groupai transforms the negative experience that college students face when being divided into small groups for graded assignments by creating a collaborative environment and encouraging feedback publicly and privately.

Students can use Groupai to coordinate schedules, communicate tasks, and select roles within the project.  Experience points are granted based on performance in certain roles.  in order to ensure a fair workload is carried by all. Groupai will encourage sharing the workload by enabling accountability for all members of the team to particiate to their fullest. Students who perform well in group work will be able to cash in on their positive ranking from other students to become sought after group partners and earn the high grades they deserve for the project. Groupai helps you build a group project resume

Faculty can use Groupai to create random groups of students, or create an environment where students can select their small groups. Faculty can check in on student progress, ensure teams are meeting, and read feedback from students regarding each other's performance. The end result will allow faculty to make more informed decisions on grading based on overall involvement in the group project.

In the end, Groupai allows students and faculty members to make informed decisions on grading based on overall involvement in the group project.  Students who perform well in group work will be able to cash in on their positive ranking to become sought after group partners and the high grade earner for the project.
